Royalties are a key feature of NFTs. They enable the creator to set a percentage of the sale price they’ll received every time the NFT is sold. Marketplaces often have a unique way of dealing with royalties, therefore if an NFT is transferred from the marketplace where it was created to a competitor, it is possible that future sale royalties will not get paid. Some marketplaces have set royalties while others let the creator decide on their preferred percentage.
- Rarible – Up to 100%
- KnownOrigin – 12.5%
- OpenSea – Up to 10%
- Foundation – 10%
- SuperRare – 10%
- MakersPlace – 5%
